Many times, when I want to find something specific, I'll put it in quotes. For example "Dominoes Pizza". Usually, Google would find the exact phrase that I wanted. But lately, it's been giving me answers with the words but not the exact phrase. For example "we played dominoes and then had pizza. Btw, this example actually works. But "dvd to vhs" does not and only shows me a few pages with those exact words. This is very annoying. How can I get it to do exact searches and is there another engine better suited to this? Can I make Google ignore pages that don't have the phrase that I'm seeking? Thanks.
If you click on the Advance Search link on Google and them search from there, it might work. I know they have fields where you can tell it specifically what you want to search for. There are where you can search for exact phrases, pages that won't include a word/phrase you type in, where you can search only in certain file types, websites, or languages if you wanted to, etc. The Advance Search page of Google has a lot of things you can select and do to make your searches more specific. Hope that helps some. *smile*
Thanks. That should make things much easier.
